2018 Floor Hockey Tournament

Tournament will open with a special address from Olympian, Chandra Crawford!

We had such a good time at the 3rd floor hockey tournament on March 22! CCS hosted 5 schools and special guests, including gold medal Olympian, Chandra Crawford. All monies raised will go to WinSport's newcomer program to try sport on snow and ice!  You can read all about the exciting event HERE on Palliser's webpage.

Chandra Crawford

Chandra is a music-loving mountain girl born and raised in Canmore, Alberta. In 2005 she founded "Fast and Female," an organization dedicated to Empowerment Through Sport that reaches 2000 girls annually all over North America.

In 2006 Chandra won Olympic Gold in cross-country skiing and captured many hearts when she belted out the national anthem from the top step of the podium.

In March 2014 she retired from ski racing after three Olympics and 13 years of international ski racing with the Canadian National Team. She is working full time empowering girls with Fast and Female events across Canada after graduating from the University of Calgary executive MBA program in the spring of 2016.
Her main interests beyond MBA school Fast and Female consist of doing the following activities with friends and family: yoga, camping, dancing, reading, languages, eating seafood, concerts, and any kind of adventure in the mountains with her husband Jared, their one year old Kyla and their dog, Stella.

She'd love to hear from you on Facebook, LinkedIn or @chandracrawford on twitter

On March 23, 2017 special guest speaker, Olympian Catriona LeMay Doan opened our second annual Floor Hockey Tournament. Proceeds from this tournament will go to WinSport "better than yesterday".

May 4, 2017 was the big reveal and it was very exciting as our floor hockey tournament raised $9446.69!  BUT we heard from John Francis at WinSport, they had a supporter who was inspired by our fundraising event and matched the money! So the total for new Canadians on ice and and snow is now $19,446.69.  Yay, we're so excited for everyone!

Staff Vs Students

On Friday, March 17, 2017 our very own CCS will be hosting our annual staff vs students floor hockey game. This special day will be fun for the staff and the students. Students won the game last year and the teachers would like revenge! Teacher Mr.Heppner made a positive statement about the following game. “ We’ve been working hard on our off season plan” Mr.H exclaimed.  “But I’ve got one question for the kids… Are YOU ready to lose?” Yes the teachers are ready to rock and roll but the students have been working hard in practice for this upcoming event. The whole school is looking forward to this exciting game. Who do you think will win?
