For more than 50 years, the integration of our Christian faith into every aspect of our learning programs has been the cornerstone of Calgary Christian School’s education philosophy, and it continues to be the key to expressing our distinctiveness, vitality and character as an Alternative Program within the Palliser School Division.
What makes CCS an “alternative” to other learning environments is that we offer the Alberta Curriculum integrated with the truth of God’s Word in every subject; we openly acknowledge and celebrate His sovereignty in all areas of our lives. Our Education Philosophy embraces this world-view in “Five Pillars of Excellence”, through which we educate and spiritually nourish the whole student - intellectually, emotionally, physically, socially and artistically.
In this dynamic and supportive community, CCS students are encouraged to actively and intentionally live out their understanding of our Vision: God's Children Making the World a Better Place… whether that be in a classroom, on a stage, on an athletic field, in our city or across the globe.
Families experience faith in action everywhere – in cross-grade groups at the Elementary Campus where students learn through work and play together, in Middle School talent shows, in High School Leadership Development programs that include service opportunities in Belize, and in our parent volunteer events. Every activity – small and large – is done to the glory of God, equipping students to lead lives of purpose, meaning and impact in the 21st century.
As a Christian community, we operate in partnership with the home and church for the whole development students. This means parents are an integral part of Calgary Christian School and its success. We have numerous ways for you to be involved; volunteer participation is vital to the well-being of our students and the life of our community.
