Dear Grade Four/Six Parents,
I am super excited to be teaching your child Social Studies this year. I have been teaching for twenty-three years and have taught grades four, seven, and nine Social Studies in the past. I have two boys, Kevin and Kyle, who are my world. My oldest son, Kevin, is now attending UofC taking Nursing. My youngest, Kyle, is in grade 11 at St. Francis High School.
I have always loved Social Studies, even as a kid. Learning about history, different societies, and types of governments is fascinating. Understanding how people live in God’s world helps me to understand how to serve the Lord and others. This year, I will be teaching 4W and 6M which I am super excited about. I will continue to fill my role as the Learning Support Teacher 70% of the time I am at school. Ensuring all students are given the best opportunity to learn is my passion while teaching and as a support teacher.
It is my deep hope that students know that they are uniquely designed by God. They will feel confident to be able to explore, reflect, and discern what the world is currently offering and decide as a Christian where we need to bring restoration into God’s Kingdom.
I look forward to an awesome year in Social Studies and will be sending further information in regards to expectations and assignments. All assignments will be posted in Google Classroom which you can easily access through your child’s email.
