Mrs. Susan Bowen

A special hello to my grade 2 students!  I truly love teaching this age level, and find that hanging out with my students energizes me and brings me great joy.  I am so happy to spend my days with my group of enthusiastic, wonder-filled learners! I am especially passionate about teaching students to read, and to open their eyes to what God is doing all around them.

Born and raised in Saskatoon, I graduated from Education at the U of S with specializations in music, language and computers. After a few years of working with early childhood students, I "retired" to be a full time wife and Mom. I returned to teaching when my own children were old enough to need me a little less. I have been on staff at Calgary Christian school since 2005, and I count myself blessed to teach in such an amazing place.

My husband Steve and I have 4 adult children, and 2 poorly behaved dogs. We've lived all over the place: northern Saskatchewan, southern California, and now beautiful Calgary.

Email is by far the easiest way to reach me. I check my email daily at 8:00 and try to check it periodically during the day. If you need to get a message to me of an urgent nature, please call the office and ask for a message to be sent to me in the classroom.

My deep hope is that my classroom will be a safe, nurturing community where everyone is able to flourish:  celebrating others and taking delight in God.
