Mrs. Monika Pagenkopf

Hi! My name is Monika Pagenkopf and it is my pleasure to be part of an amazing staff at Calgary Christian School.  I have a long history with the school, both as a parent and teacher. In 1999 I graduated with my B.Ed. with an Early Childhood focus from the University of Calgary and went on to teach Kindergarten at C.C.E.S. from 1999-2004. After 5 years I "retired" from teaching to be a full-time mom and wife. 

My husband and I have three wonderful boys. One is a recent graduate and two attend Calgary Christian in Grades 10 and 8.  Troy and I celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary this past July! Our family attends Rockpointe Church and we are active members of an amazing small group. When I'm not at school you will find me spending time on our acreage with my family, our chickens, and our playful pup Cooper. I love to bake, go camping, go for walks, read, spend time with friends and travel.

I returned to substitute teaching in 2014 and took a position as a Literacy Intervention Teacher in January 2017. I then spent two years as a Grade 1 teacher before returning to Literacy Intervention. I had the unique (and wonderful) experience of teaching Kindergarten online in 2020-21 and am now back in the school working with students. I feel passionate about teaching young children and helping them see God's fingerprints on everything around them.  I am truly honored and thankful for this opportunity to share my love of learning (and reading) with your children and encourage them to be image bearers of Christ.
