Mr. Thomas Currie

Thanks for looking me up!  My formal name is Thomas, but it's perfectly normal for me to answer to Tom.  Growing up in Calgary, and perhaps by default, I found myself with a Geoscience degree and full-time employment in the local primary resource industry, but I was spiritually restless.  I left the industry in 2005 to pursue a passion with more artistic aim.  In 2007 I found a home at Glenmore Christian Academy after graduating from the U of C with a B.Ed specialization in Secondary Science and Theatre.  I'd teach there until my second child was born, at which time I elected to take a leave to help raise them.
In 2014 I started with Westmount Charter School, and worked closely with a design team to create programs that would support students with complicated learning needs.  The resultant processes and observations needed a theoretical framework so I split time between Westmount and completing a Master's Degree in Educational Technology and Design from the University of Saskatchewan (2019). 
With my three children enrolled at Calgary Christian, married to an alumnus, and as part of the Riverpark Church congregation I suppose it was only a matter of time before I answered the call to hang my coat in these halls (2021).  It is a blessing to be asked to lend my experience and expertise to this incredible team of educators and staff and I look forward to what God intends for our students in this partnership.
